Emraan Hashmi: Actors fear anonymity, we fear not being relevant

Emraan Hashmi is busy with the promotions of his upcoming film Why Cheat India. The actor has been giving a lot of interviews where he is being asked about the Me Too movement, the changing phase of Bollywood films and box office. In an interview with Mumbai Mirror, the Murder actor was asked how much does the hits and flops matter to him. Emraan said that they matter to him and it's important to have only hits but that isn't always possible. He said that as a creative person flops matter too and one cannot grow only with hits.He added that real growth is in the pitfalls and once can feel sh*t when they have a slacking period of flops. Emraan Hashmi further said, "I am fairly detached in that way but it doesn't mean it doesn't affect me, it definitely does. As much as we portray it that we are very secure people, we are not. Actors are insecure. We fear anonymity, we fear not being relevant and flops are just like a wake-up call and we definitely fear them. 'Do people actually like me? Is it dying out?' These are the thoughts that come to our mind when a film flops. Successes are important, but failures are probably even more important."

During the rapid fire session with the tabloid, he was asked about the Censor Board of India. Emraan said that the Censor Board has a very regressive way of thinking and it needs to evolve and change. He added that sometimes they bring up very illogical points which makes no sense.
