Emraan Hashmi on Netlfix show: It's like shooting three films at the same time
Actor Emraan Hashmi is playing an Indian spy in Netflix's Bard of Blood. The web series, which is being produced by Shah Rukh Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment, is an adaptation of Bilal Siddiqui's book by the same name. The teaser was released in July last year. Bard of Blood is the story of an expelled spy, Kabir Anand who is recalled from his new life as a Shakespeare professor in Panchgani to save his country and long-lost love.
At India Today Mind Rocks 2019, Emraan Hashmi opened up about his debut web series. "Bard of Blood is based on a book written by Bilal Siddiqui who has also co-written Kiss of Life with me. It's about an English Literature teacher who is an ex-spy thrown back to battle field. He has to go to Balochistan to rescue five Indian agents." He also shared his experience of working on web series. "It's pretty tough. It's like shooting three films simultaneously. It was a lot of work but I really enjoyed it, " he added.
Emraan Hashmi also empahsised that creativity has no bounds when working for an OTT platform as there is no censorship. He said, "In films you are bound in that kind of box because you got to play up certain safety nets. Creativity soars when it comes to OTT platforms because at least so far there is no censorship."
