Set in America in 1962, Green Book tells the heart-warming true story of Tony Lip (Viggo Mortensen), a working-class Italian-American bouncer who takes on a job as chauffeur to Dr Don Shirley (Mahershala Ali), a highly educated African-American classical pianist. The mismatched pair embark on a two-month tour of concert venues in the racially charged Deep South and discover they’re on the road to a meaningful and unique friendship.
Green Book has been nominated for five Golden Globes and has already won a host of prestigious awards including the American Film Institute’s Film of the Year, the National Board Review’s Best Film and the Peoples’ Choice at the Toronto Film Festival.
The film is on general release from Wednesday, January 30, 2019.
