Peaky Blinders season five: Cillian Murphy and the cast pictured filming in Stockport
The Peaky Blinders cast returned to work yesterday to start filming the eagerly anticipated fifth season of the show following a short break over the festive period.
The stars of the popular BBC show, which was created by Steven Knight, headed to Stockport to film scenes for the upcoming series which is set in 1930s Birmingham.
Cillian Murphy, 42, who plays leader of the Peaky Blinders Thomas Shelby, was pictured on set along with Charlie Murphy, 29, who plays trade union activist Jessie Eden.
The suited and booted actor looked dapper dressed in the stylish outfits that have become synonyms with the show.
Charlie, who joined the cast in season four, wore a fur-trimmed coat and bob hairstyle which was typical of the era in which the drama is set.
Also photographed on the streets of Stockport yesterday was actor Sam Claflin, 32, who will play far right politician Oswald Mosley in the forthcoming series.
The English movie star, who has appeared in films including The Hunger Games, and Me Before You, could be seen in a three piece suit and trilby hat as he climbed into a vintage motor.
Hundreds of TV extras joined the cast to film scenes of a protest outside Stockport Plaza.
The popular television series will return to our TV screens sometime in 2019, but will move from it’s usual home of BBC Two to BBC One.
